Origin: Venezuela

On any given day, our colleagues in Venezuela are confronted by the overpopulation crisis. While taking in the artistry by the shore, Olga spots a small dog dodging cars on the busy beachfront street. Our colleagues can’t turn a blind eye so they had no choice but to try to rescue this poor, emaciated dog. As she approaches she realizes this young dog is in horrific condition. A beautiful day to enjoy the ocean view has now turned into a threatening scenario. Both rescuer and dog are in harms way. With great courage to walk among the crashing waves, Olga braves the rocks in order to save her. Her condition is heartbreaking.  She is suffering from mange at very least, we can only imagine what bloodwork will uncover.. She is raw and bald. Her tiny body is malnourished. She is infested with blood sucking ticks and by the look of her pale gums she is anemic.

She is named Sirena after the mermaids that enchanted sailors. Sirena didn't ask for this.
