Update 3/20/22-  Our little fighter was discharged from the hospital! She is eating on her own with a healthy appetite, body temperature is stable and very alert and active!
She is a warrior and we can’t thank you all enough for the prayers and healing vibes!
She still needs treatment for her skin condition, continued monitoring of her intestinal parasites and future vaccines, but her future is promising.
After an emergency blood transfusion, Baby Rica survived! There are no words to describe the heartache along with anger we are feeling. This tiny girl was found thrown among trash with her rear legs zip tied together.

She is tiny- 2lbs! She was infested with fleas which means tapeworms are present and she is filled with other intestinal parasites.

Her gums are pale and she is anemic. So far she has tested negative for viruses BUT she is very anemic and weak.

She evacuated feces filled with bloodsucking worms. Intestinal parasites not only deplete a young puppy’s body of nutrients but they also latch on to the intestines and when dewormed, they make tiny tears which cause more damage to an anemic body. 

Baby Rica took a turn for the worse yesterday. Her body temperature dropped and she is lethargic. Her blood count is critical and Miriam was able to find a healthy viable blood donor to supply the clinic. 

She needs your prayers for the transfusion to be successful and give her the support needed to rebuild her strength.

No innocent being deserves this wickedness done to them.
